Obituary

INDIANAPOLIS- Buddy W. Jones, 75, passed away on Saturday morning September 14, 2013 at his home in Indianapolis, Indiana. A son of the late Homer Thomas and Effie Sue (Duty) Jones, Buddy was born in Obion, Tennessee on July 10, 1938. Buddy moved to Indianapolis from Owensboro, Kentucky in 1963. He worked as sales manager for Garage Doors of Indianapolis (8 years), Sears (29 years) and most recently for Kittles Furniture Outlet in Fishers. While at Sears, Buddy received many awards which recognized sales goals, leadership skills and training accomplishments. He achieved "Top Performer" recognitions for his performance as a salesman and for sales quotas achieved by his staff while under his leadership. His greatest achievment came at 11 years old when he was saved and became a member of God's family in 1949 at Pleasant Ridge, Kentucky. Buddy became a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Indianapolis in March of 2011. Survivors include his wife, formerly of Cambridge City, Lisa D. (Walters) Jones. They were married in Nashville, Tennessee on June 5, 1995. His 2 children, Anthony Allen Jones and Carol Lynn Jones both of Indianapolis; several grand and great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Margaret Elsie Payne and John Franklin, wife Linda (Bean) Jones. Buddy was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Mary Jessie (Crisp) Jones; 1 son, Timothy Wayne Jones; 3 siblings, Elvis Jones, Katharine Wedding and Swan Tyler. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday September 19, 2013 with visitation 1 hour prior at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 115 West U.S. Hwy. 40- Lewisville, IN 47352. Pastors, Donald Mitchell and Rick Salazar will officiate. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
