LEWISVILLE - Brenda Eileen Poore, 66, passed away at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle, Indiana on Thursday afternoon March 20, 2014. Brenda was born in Monticello, Kentucky on February 23, 1948. Brenda and her family moved from Kentucky when she was 2 years old and she graduated from Straughn High School with the class of 1966. She has made her home in the rural Lewisville community for over 40 years. Following graduation, she married Jerry C. Poore Sr. in New Castle at the South Side Church of Christ on June 3, 1966. Brenda had worked as office manager for Brower's- Gaar Nursery at Cambridge City and Beverly Enterprises Nursing Home at Mt. Comfort.

Survivors include her husband of Lewisville; 1 son, Jerry C. Poore II (Jessica Branch) of Indianapolis; 1 granddaughter, Celina Poore; 1 brother, David (Nancy) Back of Louisville, KY; 1 sister, Marilyn (Don) Cross of New Lisbon; nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Back in 1986; mother, Hazel Back Shaffer on January 29, 2014 and step-father Lloyd Shaffer on December 3, 2013.

Honoring Brenda's wishes, there will be no public services. Following cremation, her cremains will be intered at Maupin Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Memorial Contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity.
