Brenda Munchel, 70, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, after many years of failing health. Brenda was born on September 23, 1953, in Connersville, Indiana to Bernard "Ben" and Jacquelyn (Miller) Singer. She was a graduate of Cambridge City Lincoln High School and worked various jobs over the years. She was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. On April 22, 1972, she was joined in holy matrimony with Thomas Munchel. They spent the next 52 years side by side on their beloved farm, building a legacy of love and devotion that was the envy of all who knew them. Brenda was known for her quick wit, snappy comebacks, and beautiful laugh. To know her was to feel loved and welcomed.
Her greatest joy was spending time with family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her husband and children, Christopher (Donna) Munchel, Elizabeth "Betsy" (Lucius) Pitcock, Brian (Megan) Munchel; grandchildren, Cole Munchel, Aaron (Jordan) McWhirt, Jaylee (Trey Laster) McWhirt, Addyson Pitcock, Paige Pitcock, Clark Munchel, Cooper Griffin, Chloe (Landon Saylor) Griffin; two great-grandchildren due in 2024; siblings, Michael (Brenda) Singer, Susan (Jamie) Wesseler, Cheryl (Jeff) Perry, James "Jimmy" (Tina Carter) Singer; in-laws, Michael (Doris) Munchel, Melanie (Rick) Hamm and Linda Munchel and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gary Singer, brother-in-law, David Munchel and nephew, Patrick Wesseler.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday January 13, 2024 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Cambridge City. Fr. John Hall will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Rosary Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday January 12th with visitation to follow from 3-7 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, Brenda's family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice.
