Obituary

DUNREITH-  Robert Eugene "Bobby" Brown, 70, passed away at his home in Dunreith, Indiana on Saturday October 2, 2021.  A son of the late Robert L. and Marjorie E. (Bertsch) Brown, Bobby was born in New Castle, Indiana on December 11, 1950.  Bobby lived most of his life in Henry County and graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School with the class of 1969. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Bobby had worked for his father at Tasty Bakery and at Kenny Eaton's Store and Chrysler Corporation all in New Castle.  He had a lifelong love for farming and the outdoors, working for several years at Pickering Grain near Straughn and for other area farmers. He was a "Handyman" with many carpentry skills who could build or fix anything. Bobby tried to live as naturally as possible.  He cut firewood with his friend, Chuck Reece, that he would sell and also heat his home with.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, picking raspberry and blackberries, gardening and hunting. He found happiness in the simple things in life.  A graduate of Anderson Clown College and a stilt walker,  "Snickles" enjoyed bringing smiles to many faces as he participated in area parades and parties.

Survivors include 3 siblings, David Michael Brown, Patty (Greg) Bertsch and Teresa (Don) Sparks.  Bobby was preceded in death by 2 children, 5 year old, Kacie Elaine Brown and Kelly Robert Brown; and his special canine companion, Jake.

Bobby wished to be memorialized privately.  Cremation services have been entrusted to Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home.
