STRAUGHN- Robert "Yogi" Riall, 73, passed away Monday evening July 23, 2018 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. A son of the late Arnold and Hazel (Bockover) Riall, Bob was born in Mt. Auburn, Indiana on August 10, 1944. Bob was raised in the Dublin community and attended Lincoln High School in Cambridge City. He and his wife Betty have made their home in Straughn for the past 47 years. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Bob was a Purple Heart recipient and honorably discharged from the United States Army on May 29, 1969. He was employed by M.E.G. in Cambridge City and retired from Citadel Manufacturing in Indianapolis where he worked as a laminator. Bob attended St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and was a former member and past commander of the Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post 169 and the Connersville Post of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a lifelong sports fan and enjoyed the Cincinnati Reds.
Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Ann Werner, whom he married in Cambridge City on March 13, 1971. 3 children, Arnold Riall of Straughn, Amy Riall of New Castle and Angie Riall of Cincinnati; 1 brother, George Riall of Dublin; 2 sister in-laws, Marilyn and Carolyn Riall; several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by 5 siblings, toddler, Betty Jane Riall, Marie Tanner, Frances Smith, Joseph and Richard Riall.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday July 28th at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Cambridge City. Fr. John Hall will officiate. Burial with military honors conducted by contingents of the United States Army Honor Guard and Post 169 will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday July 27th at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin where online condolences can be made anytime at www.marshallanderleweinfuneralhome.com
