Lewisville- Billy L. Pierce, 83, of Lewisville, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning September 14, 2010. A son of the late George W. and Greedle Florence (Smith) Pierce, Billy was born in New Castle, Indiana on November 22, 1926. He was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in New Castle. Billy had worked for Perfect Circle for 15 years and was co-owner of G.W. Pierce Auto Parts, Hartley Truck Parts and owner of Bill Pierce Trucking. He was an avid race fan and owner of a USAC racing team. Billy will be remembered as a good husband and father, a man of his word with true grit. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, the former Arthela McConnell. They were married in New Castle, Indiana on August 17, 1946. 3 sons- Bill Robert "Bucky" (Delilah) Pierce of New Castle, Johnny (Terry Jo) Pierce of Lewisville, George W. Pierce II of New Castle; 1 daughter- Brenda Lee (Donald) Ewing of Straughn; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 3 brothers- John (Euldean) Pierce, Rex (Ruth Ann) Pierce and Marion (Sandra) Pierce all of Lewisville; 2 sisters Georgie Penticuff of New Castle and Janice (Robert) Blake of Lewisville; nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by his daughter- Phyllis Ann Jones on Oct. 22, 2000; infant son- Ernest Glenn Pierce; infant brother- Haskell; 4 brothers- Benny, Bobby, Paul and Dale Pierce. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday September 17, 2010 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Pastor Carl Wright will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday September 16 at the funeral home
