CAMBRIDGE CITY- Billie Dove (Neal )Shute, 86, of Cambridge City, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2014. She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on February 5, 1927 to William and Leola (Aliff) Neal. She was the fourth of 12 children. She attended Beaver High School in Bluefield, W.V., in the 1940s .She worked in the defense factories in the Bluefield and surrounding areas, and later worked for Bell Telephone Company as an operator. After moving to Richmond, Indiana Billie married Ralph L. Shute, Sr. of Williamsburg on September 2, 1950. She was an active member of the Milton Methodist Church where she sang beautiful solos on many occasions. She belonged to various women's clubs and organizations in the Western Wayne area. She enjoyed creating flower gardens and spending time outdoors. She devoted her life to raising her five children and being a role model for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ralph, her five children: Angela (Brian) Cates of Modoc, IN, Aimee (Dean) Haggard of Winchester, IN, Ralph L. "Tad" (Angie) Shute of Cambridge City, IN, Jennifer (Rick) Weisbrod of Cumming, GA, and Christopher (Tina) Shute of Carmel, IN. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Tyler (Cortney) Cates , Logan (Leslie) Cates, Natalie (Cates) Winegardner (Tyler), Spencer Haggard, Taylor Shute, Carmen Shute, Parker Weisbrod, Paxton Weisbrod, Lance Shute and two great-grandchildren Zoey Shute and Beckett Winegardner. She leaves behind three brothers and four sisters living in Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother David "Bud" Neal, three sisters ,Majel, Sara, and Goldie. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street (U.S. 40), in Dublin, with Pastor Paul Gearhardt officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family Friends may call on Thursday, February 6 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
