William "Bill" Dean Shook, 72, of Pershing, Indiana, passed away Sunday January 19, 2014 at Fayette Regional Health Systems. He was born to William A. and Wilma L. (Retherford) Shook in Henry County, Indiana. He was a 1959 graduate of Hagerstown High School and retired from Dana Corporation in 1990. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working at Mac & Son in Pershing. He enjoyed sports of all kinds and was involved in youth baseball in the Western Wayne community for many years. He served on the Pershing Town Board for several years. Researching his genealogy was also a favorite pastime. He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-one years, Glenda Kay (Vandivier) Shook; son, Scott A. Shook (Paula); daughter, Cynthia A: Shook; grand-daughters Betsy (Mitch) Slone; Holly (JR) Todish; grandson Justin (Ashley) Shook; great-grandchildren Robert Slone; Olivia, Jackson and Alaina Todish. He is also survived by his mother, Wilma L. Shook and siblings Ronnie (Judy) Shook, Donna Jean (Ray) Little, Randy (Kelly) Shook, Debra (Wyatt) Shook, Kyle Chapman and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Shook, brother Carl Duane "Barney" Shook and sister Karen Louise (Shook) Chapman. Services will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin, Indiana on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may call two hours before the service. Pastor Chris Sitler will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing, Indiana following the services.
