SPICELAND-  Bettie L. Cooper, 76, passed away Monday evening October 4, 2021 at Henry Community Health in New Castle, Indiana from complications of COVID19.  A daughter of the late Robert R. and Dorothy (Hanna) Davis, Bettie was born in Fortville, Indiana on February 3, 1945.  Bettie grew up in the Westfield community and has lived in the Spiceland area for the past 20 years.  A homemaker, she had worked in customer service for grocery and other retail businesses in Greenfield.  In her leisure, Bettie enjoyed mowing and other yard work.

Survivors include 2 children, Andrea Payne of Spiceland and Jason Riegel of Greenfield; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Redd Kilingsmith, Austin and Logan Payne; 2 brothers, Chuck and Fred Davis.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband of 14 years at the time of his passing, Jerry R. Cooper, on April 19, 2006.  They were married in Rushville on June 25, 1991; stillborn grandson, Cameron Payne; 1 brother, Roger Davis.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday October 8, 2021 at Walnut Ridge Cemetery-  8956 West CR 800 North / Carthage, IN 46115. Pastor Doug Shilts will officiate.
