LEWISVILLE-  Bernida Ilene Cook, 67, went home to be with the Lord and her husband on Thursday evening May 21, 2020.  Bernida was born in Kentucky on August 12, 1952 to the late Virdest and Lillie Mae (Duncan) Logan.  Formerly of the Knightstown area, she has lived in Lewisville since 1985.  She retired from the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors  Home in Knightstown after 20 years of service, where she worked in housekeeping.  Bernida was a devoted wife and mother and loved to spend time with her family. She was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church and in her leisure enjoyed sewing.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Duane Cook of New Castle and Brady (Mandy) Cook of Dunreith; 2 sisters, her twin, Bernice Cook and Dorothy Steward.

Bernida was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wayne Cook on January 7, 2019.  They were married in Knightstown on March 31, 1972; 2 siblings, Pansy Richmond and Frank Logan.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 28, 2020 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Pastor Larry Delon will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday May 27th.
