DUBLIN - Bennie F. Armstrong, 89, of Dublin passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville. He was born on May 28, 1925 in Maryville, Tennessee to Fred Urban and Dossie Armstrong. Formerly of Centerville, Bennie has lived in the Dublin community for the past 40 years. He served his country with the United States Army during WWII in Germany. On September 26, 1953 Bennie married the former Eula M. Pate. Bennie retired form AVCO in Richmond and enjoyed playing euchre and sitting on his front porch. He attended Centerville Christian Chruch. Survivors include his sons, Ted (Ruth) Cates of Independence, Missouri, Ned (Jean) Cates of Richmond, Indiana, Ken (Lori) Armstrong of Lakeland, Florida, Mark (Linda) Armstrong of Milton, Indiana; daughter Cris Armstrong of Cambridge City, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; caretaker, Linda Siggers; many special friends including Town of Dublin Employees & Ambulance Staff. Bennie was preceded in death by his parents; wife on May 27, 2009; son, Gary Armstrong in October 2013; two brothers; five sisters. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery, Dublin.
