MILTON – Zella "Arzella" Russell, 79, passed away peacefully Monday morning, July 3, 2017 at her home in Milton. A daughter of the late Elisha P. and Betty Mae (Rose) Rader, Arzella was born in Jackson County, Kentucky on April 18, 1938. She grew up in Jackson County, moved to Connersville, Indiana, and eventually settled in Milton in 1970. A homemaker, Arzella loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and doing seamstress work. She was a member of the Park Road Christian Center in Connersville.

Survivors include her 3 children, Debbie (Wayne) Tipton of Connersville, Ronda (Brian) Smith of Charlottesville, and Ronald H. Russell of Milton; 4 grandchildren, Bradley (Lesley) Tipton, Valerie Tipton, Kendra Russell, and Mallie Smith; 3 Great Grandchildren, Rori Stewart, Brenden Russell, and Elizabeth Tipton.

Arzella was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J. Russell on May 18, 2013. They were married on December 24, 1959 in Jackson County, Kentucky; 1 grandson Jonathan Russell on April 17, 2016; 7 brothers, Floid, Melvin, Granville, Delbert, Toulbey, Dessmon, and Ellis; 3 sisters Lella Steele, Ella Baker, and Della Lakes.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday July 6th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the West Side Cemetery in Milton.
