CAMBRIDGE CITY- Alma Jean Bowman, 95, passed away late Friday evening May 8, 2026 at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Indiana. A daughter of the late Lester Cheek and Rachel (Elam) Cheek-Rauthe, Alma was born in Knox County, Kentucky on December 5, 1930. Alma lived most of her life in the Cambridge City community and had worked at Hook’s, Revco and CVS drugstores for many years. Alma was the family caregiver and always put the needs of others before her own. In her leisure, Alma enjoyed flower gardening and working in her yard.

Survivors include her 3 daughters, Connie (Ralph) Todd, Elizabeth “Libby” (George) Steele and Beverly Bowman; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; 2 siblings, Mary Alice Stewart and Wilbur Cheek; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm H. Bowman; 1 grandson; 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Private services will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
