CAMBRIDGE CITY- Alan Lee Golliher, born in Richmond, Indiana on October 6, 1942, to Joseph and Frances (Ryman) Golliher, passed away peacefully Monday morning June 9, 2025 at Reid Health in Richmond, while under hospice care after several months of declining health. Alan was a 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School in Cambridge City, where he was active in football, basketball, and FFA. A lifelong farmer in Wayne County, Alan was known for his strong work ethic and sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister, Doris (David) Thompson; his children, Josie (Philip) Seybold, Chuck (Lori) Golliher, Susanne (Boyd) Lumsden, Brian (Julie) Golliher, Tom (Ashley) Golliher, Mathew (Devra ) Golliher, Joe (Aubri) Golliher, and Daniel Golliher; his grandchildren, Alanson (Madi) Seybold, Harrison (Jessica) Seybold, Owen (Abbi) Golliher, Ryan (Marissa) Golliher, Lindsey Golliher, Quinton and Adelyn Lumsden, Olivia (Paul) Schoentrup, Chase (Emily) Wisner, Bess and Ben Golliher, Zack, Gus, Mac Golliher, and Everett Golliher; great-grandchildren, Audrie and Ayden Seybold, Lincoln and Sidney Schoentrup; nephew, Rhett Thompson and several cousins, including Steve Golliher, Naomi Branham, Anne McAllister Delmore, and David Hubble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Max; brother-in-law, David Thompson; son-in-law, Philip Seybold; and granddaughter, Lucy Golliher.
Farming was Alan's lifelong passion, and he passed down his love of the land and pride in a hard days' work to his children. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports, collecting toy tractors, and watching basketball and Lawrence Welk reruns. Alan's sense of humor and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A Memorial Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Saturday June 14, 2025 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Jamie Fagan will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in South Lawn Cemetery, Dublin.
