Obituary

LEWISVILLE- Adena Rynerson, 82, passed away while surrounded by her family on January 26, 2015 at Heritage House Nursing Home in New Castle, Indiana. A daughter of the late Robert Elmer and Helen Martha (Dunlap) Meurer, Adena was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 6, 1932. She was a graduate of Gerstmeyer Technical High School in Terre Haute and had lived in Lewisville since 1961. Adena operated her own sewing business and was known for her beautifully crafted aprons, bibs, tote bags and other items. She was a member of the Indianapolis Hiking Club for years and, with her husband Hal, made long-lasting friendships there. She was an avid reader and enjoyed, traveling, music and spending time with her grandchildren and friends. She was an accomplished musician with a beautiful singing voice. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Hal Rynerson. They were married in Terrre Haute on June 14, 1952; 4 children: Lynn (James) Smith of Indianapolis; David (Cherie) Rynerson of Rochester, New York; Robert (Karen) Rynerson of Bloomington, Illinois; and Hal Dean Rynerson of Waverly. Adena is survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and her brother David Meurer. She was preceded in death by 6 siblings. Adena's family thanks the wonderful staff at Heritage House in New Castle. Through their loving care and concern, her last years were happy and content. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at 1 p.m. on Friday January 30, 2015 at the Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Rev. Arthur Whitaker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Lewisville Cemetery.
