Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Abigail Darryl Irene Baldwin, who entered the arms of her Savior on July 25, 2023, at the age of 20.

Born on December 23, 2002, Abigail was a proud 2021 graduate of Blue River Valley School where her sport was volleyball. She enjoyed choir and debate. A member of BPA. Abi attended IU East seeking a degree in Psychology. She wanted to help children, and their families.

Abi was in a devastating vehicle collision on July 5, 2023. After a courageous and determined fight for her life, the Lord called her home.

Abi was a radiant soul whose love for God, nature, and those around her shined brightly. A true tree hugger at heart, she found peace in the beauty of God's creation. She loved chasing sunsets, admiring sunflowers, traveling and embracing every adventure that came her way. Her beloved green Volkswagen "Slug Bug" was a familiar sight to family and friends, just as her contagious smile and kind spirit were.

Nothing brought Abi more joy than spending time with her family, friends and her cherished mule, Bruno. She dearly loved her faithful dog, Delilah, who tragically passed away in the collision. Abi was a fierce advocate for children. In her presence no child went unprotected or without. Above all else, Abigail loved Jesus Christ with her whole heart. Her unwavering faith guided her life and touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Abi is lovingly remembered by her mother, Isabell Carrender. Her Pape (Darryl) and Mame (Barbara) Carrender. Aunt Lisla "ma'am" and Uncle Alan ("Allie" and chosen dad). Uncle Eric, and Aunt Cindy Carrender. Cousins Brad, Hali, Braden, Brandon, Morgan, Berkley, Claire Elaine, Weston Tate, Grace Carrender, Melinda and Tracy Humble. Many more cousins. A little sister, Emma. Great aunts and uncles. Several extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Although Abigail's life was far too short, the love and light she shared to the world will never be forgotten. Those who knew her will remember her gentle passionate heart, infectious laugh, huge smile, adventurous spirit, deep compassion, and steadfast faith.

Abi has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved sister, Kirstin Baldwin, who passed away on July 26, 2024. Her Uncle Eddie Carrender followed in the winter of 2024. Though they did not leave this world together, we find comfort that they are together again. Eternally in the presence of the Lord.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23

May Abigail's memory live on in every sunset, every sunflower, every quiet walk among the trees, and in the hearts of all who know and love her.

Abi, we will see you in the blink of an eye.
