Marjory N. Shepherd

CONNERSVILLE- Marjory N. Shepherd, 87, passed away Monday morning January 21, 2019 at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, Indiana.  A daughter of the late Marcus and Joanna (Johnson) Hayworth, Marjory was born in Franklin County, Indiana on February 14, 1931.  She was raised in the Lewisville community and graduated in 1949 from Lewisville High School as Valedictorian of her class.  Formerly of Rushville and New Castle, Marjory has made her home in Connersville for the past 15 years.  She was employed by DANA/Perfect Circle where she began work in the foundry at the Rushville plant and retired from Hagerstown where she worked in the personnel office.  Marjory enjoyed collecting dolls, reading, crocheting, sewing and playing euchre.  She was also a woodworker and built several doll houses. She was a member of Connersville Senior Center and loved her pets.

     Survivors include her daughter, Pam Dalrymple of Connersville; grandchildren, Nathan (Veyona) Shepherd, Delana (Don) Ward, Jason (Alan) Dalrymple, Jodi Simpson, Jocelyn (Dave) Snyder; 17 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sister in-law, Norma Hayworth; nieces, nephews and her adored feline, Rescue.

     Marjory was preceded in death by her son, Gerald “Ed” Shepherd; 2 brothers, Robert and William Hayworth; sister in-law, Ruth Hayworth.

     Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. on Saturday January 26, 2019 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel.  Pastors Richard Ware and Dennis Perkins of Higher Praise Church will officiate.  Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
