Jeff Mann Obituary

CAMBRIDGE CITY-  Jeffrey Ervin Mann, 76, passed away Monday morning December 17, 2018 at Parker Health and Rehabilitation in Parker City, Indiana. A son of the late Donald Ervin and Mary Katherine (Hinsky) Mann, Jeff was born in Richmond, Indiana on February 21, 1942.  Jeff lived most of his life in the Cambridge City community and was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School.  He served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on March 7, 1966.  He attended college in Fort Lee, Virginia.  Jeff was employed by the United States Civil Service and worked as a Commissary Officer at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis.  He retired after 20 years of service and was appreciative that his profession  provided him the opportunity to travel  while working in Germany for three years and Hawaii for five.  Jeff’s memberships include- Lifetime Member of the Cambridge City Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion Post #495 in Indianapolis.  He volunteered at the Indiana School of the Deaf.  Jeff has made his home near Modoc in Randolph County since 1999 and enjoyed being able to serve the Amish families in the area.  His canine companions provided him with much happiness. 

     Survivors include 2 siblings, Stacia E. Mann of Newport, NC and Thomas A. Mann of Beaufort, NC; 3 nephews, Zachary, Darby and David Mann; 1 niece, Angela Inman; 2 foster children, Charles Mize and James Fields; many Amish friends.

     Visitation will be on Friday December 21st from 10 a.m. till 11 a.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin.  Graveside services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City with contingents of the United States Army Honor Guard and Lawrence H. Bertsch American Legion Post officiating.  Memorial Contributions can be made to H.E.L.P. the Animals Shelter, P.O. Box 117- Richmond, IN 47374.
