LEWISVILLE- Jack Cook, 67, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning January 7, 2019. A son of the late Berthel and Beulah (Butler) Cook, Jack was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on October 9, 1951. Formerly of Knightstown, Jack and his family have made their home in Lewisville since 1985. Jack retired from the Maintenance Department at the Knightstown Soldiers and Sailors Children’s Home where he worked in the steam plant. He enjoyed carpentry and was an all around “handy man”. In his leisure, Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing. He was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church in Spiceland.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Bernida Logan. They were married in Knightstown on March 31, 1972. 2 sons, Duane Cook of New Castle and Brady (wife, Mandy) Cook of Dunreith; 2 brothers, Ted (Bernice) Cook of Dunreith and Stanley Cook of Richmond; 1 sister, Lorene (Bob) Hamilton of New Castle.
Jack was preceded in death by 1 brother, Berthel Lee Cook; 2 sisters, Tottie Richmond and Mavis Ingles; 2 infant siblings.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday January 11, 2019 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Rev. Larry Delon will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday January 10th.
