CAMBRIDGE CITY- Gerry Grap, 93, passed away Thursday afternoon September 5, 2019 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late Delbert William Fredrick and Hattie Marie (Doebler) Grap, Gerhard Walter Gustive Grap was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 1, 1926. Gerry was a graduate of Connersville High School and attended two years of college. Gerry was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He drove a tank during his twelve years of service. Gerry has lived at his current home near Pennville since 1982. He retired from truck driving and had worked for Golay & Company, Lee Cylinder and Chore Boy in Cambridge City and AmStan Freight. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pershing.
Survivors include 2 sons, Eric Grap of Cambridge City and Anthony Grap of Richmond; 2 step-sons, Michael Coon of Virginia and Mark Coon of Dayton, OH; 6 grandchildren, Joann and Justine, Erika, Austin and Dalton Grap and Tasha Hunter; 1 brother, Roger Grap.
Gerry was preceded in death by his wife, the former Delilah “Dee” Helton on February 14, 2009. They were married in Covington, Kentucky on October 10, 1964. 1 daughter, Deanna Grap; 1 granddaughter, Kimberly Coon.
Memorial Services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday September 22, 2019 at Zion's Lutheran Church in Pershing.
