CAMBRIDGE CITY- Marvin Allen Longnecker, 86 passed away at The Waters of New Castle, early Saturday morning March 23, 2024. A son of the late Norman and Alice E. Johnson Longnecker, Marvin was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on January 10, 1938. He was a lifelong Cambridge City resident and graduated from Lincoln High School. Marvin served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Germany. Marvin married the love of his life, the former Shirley Graham on August 7, 1960. He retired from Dana-Perfect Circle after 30 years of service. He was a long time member of the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Dublin. In his leisure, Marvin enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, trapping, birdwatching, planting flowers and gardening.
Survivors include his children- April Spaulding, Bryan and Chad Longnecker; 6 grandchildren, Kristin Watson, Jessica Spaulding, Jazmine, Dylan, Michael & Elizabeth Longnecker; 5 great grandchildren, Brynn Fahl, Liam Watson, Luna Longnecker, Maverick & Mercy Walker; great-great grandchild, Harper Milano; 4 siblings, Betty Joslin, Patricia Brown, Jerry Longnecker & Katherine Arnold; nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of sixty years, Shirley, on April 8, 2021; 3 sisters, Norma June Moistner, Elizabeth K. Vickers, Wilma Baker; grandson, Ryan Longnecker; great granddaughter, Kylee Cooper.
Visitation will be at 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Cremation will follow.
