PERSHING- David Earl Collins, 63, passed away early Tuesday morning December 4, 2018 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana. A son of the late Harrison and Phyllis (Morton) Collins, David was born in Batesville, Indiana on January 14, 1955. He graduated from Connersville Senior High School with the class of 1973 and served his country in the United States Navy. David was a longtime Pershing resident and had worked as a truck driver and in supervision at Color Box in Richmond. David also drove wrecker for Mac and Son. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and fishing.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Trisha (Dustin) Taylor of Cambridge City, Heather (Rob) Davis of Greensburg and Rebecca Hensley Hockersmith of Tennessee; 7 grandchildren, Hayley Jayne and Coltin Dayne Taylor, Nevaeh Renee’ Davis, Amber, Michael, Amy and Tony Hockersmith; his wife Carleene Collins and her 3 daughters, Pam, Kim and Laurie; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his first wife of 21 years, the love of his life and mother of his children, Jayne (McCutcheon) Collins on August 14, 1998; granddaughter, Audrey Davea Taylor on June 27, 2008 and 1 brother.
Visitation will be on Thursday December 6, 2018 from noon until the time of services at 2 p.m. at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Rev. Danny Berry will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion’s Lutheran Cemetery in Pershing.
